Xerosic smiles. “Go on, then. I’m waiting.”
“On it.” Val and Sal give me a confused look at first, but I just hold up an index finger and reach for one of my own Pokéballs. “It’s in here,” I say, sending out my Glalie.
Xerosic does not appear pleased. “Excuse me, kid, but just how dumb do you think I am? Do you even know me?? I’m one of Team Flare’s top scientists! That’s just a regular Glalie.”
I scoff at him. “Well, obviously that’s what it’s supposed to look like,” I say. “It’s actually an electronic container.”
“It...is? Ohoho, this I just have to see. Prove it.”
“Sure,” I tell him with a shrug. “I just have to prep my remote...” I fiddle with my Z-Power Ring, exchanging the Buginium-Z in the main slot for my Darkinium-Z. Xerosic steps closer to watch in curiosity. “But before I activate it...” I add, looking him right in the eye, “...let my friends go. Then it’ll open and the Cosmog is all yours.”
“Hmm...very well. Put them down,” Xerosic orders. His goons drop Greninjaman, and Malamar psychically tosses Max back inside and right into a wall, disorienting him.
“Thank you.” I pause a minute, trying to remember the motions for the Dark-type Z-move.
“Well?” Xerosic huffs. “I’m waiting.”
“Yeah, yeah, just a sec,” I tell him. “Just remembering how to do the, uh. bio...mechanical... lock pattern.”
“Oh, I see. I might have to take the cage with me for analysis, too, then; it seems like marvelously sophisticated technology!”
“Yeah, you do that.” As I think back, an image of Nanu performing a pose materializes in my mind.
Hehehe...that’s funny. But wrong one.
Yeah, that’s more like it, I think. Concentrating, I copy Nanu’s motions as best as I recall them. Xerosic and company get closer to Glalie to watch, Xerosic rubbing his hands in excitement.
“Ohoho, it’s working!” Xerosic chortles as Glalie becomes cloaked in energy and expresses a more sinister-looking glare. Glalie’s jaw parts open, an orb of darkness already forming inside. “IT’S OPENING...GAHHH!!” Glalie forcefully ejects the ball of dark energy and Xerosic with it, staring intently as the sphere expands, drawing in Xerosic’s Pokémon and grunts, compressing them all with some sort of gravitational force. The Black Hole Eclipse bursts, launching the bad guys all out into the hall, KO-ing them.
I chuckle slyly. You’re not getting the Cosmog that I want to raise myself, I think. I drag Greninjaman inside and set him down gently on his seat. “So what do we do with those thugs?” I ask everyone still conscious in the room.
