@ Dannyjenn (cc Ash's tan): He is a lot darker, isn't he? Gee, I guess that must mean he's spent a lot of time outside, travelling... At least a few years' worth! Also, you're right, Ashe himself doesn't look younger per se, but his clothes are baggier and his hat is way bigger than it used to be, making it look like his head is bigger, making him (from a mangaka's point of view) look younger. Serebii's page about Ash has shots of him from different seasons, and is a good example of this. Thanks again for your thoughts.
@ Gliscor'd: I think I replied earlier to somebody that other characters (Oak, etc) do age, which was part of my initial justification for starting this thread. Plus, as far as I know, we haven't seen Max since the end of AG, so how do we know he hasn't? Like Ash, he should be older now than he was then.
